STEM Week: 30 Student Projects Featured in Science & Tech Fair Alongside Campus-Wide Activities

In celebration of Science Month, our school community hosted STEM Week this October, featuring a wide range of science, technology, and innovation events across all levels, from Early Childhood to High School.

This year’s STEM Fair highlighted 30 student projects, featuring research and working prototypes in biology, chemistry, mathematics, technology, and robotics. The event wrapped up with a special awards ceremony recognizing three standout High School students: Benjamín Sánchez (10th Grade) for building the High School STEM logo, Fabio Moras (10th Grade) for his contribution to the logo graphic design contest, and Rafael Estrada (11th Grade) for winning both the Ñuble & BioBío Regional Astronomy Olympiad (advancing to the national finals) and the National Astronomy & Astronautics Olympiad.

The fair also featured an interactive booth hosted by the UdeC Geology Department and welcomed a special delegation of PhD students in Artificial Intelligence from CRUCH Biobío-Ñuble, accompanied by Dr. Daniela Mennickent, a faculty member at UCSC’s School of Medicine. This graduate team is collaborating with our High School Robotics Workshop, led by Miss Pamela Villagra, giving our young roboticists the opportunity to receive expert feedback on their projects.

Students from 7th to 12th grade attended guest lectures delivered by visiting STEM professionals who shared insights into their research fields. Meanwhile, Elementary School hosted two interactive experience rooms: a Microscope Lab featuring various specimens and a Hologram Experience Room.

In Early Childhood, our youngest learners conducted hands-on classroom experiments and presented scientific topics to 1st and 2nd graders. To top it off, in addition to touring the main STEM Fair, Early Childhood hosted its very own parent-led fair, where parents performed engaging science experiments that captivated the little ones.
