TJSS kicked off Kindness Week (Semana del Buen Trato) by celebrating Students Day. Over the next few days, students engaged in a variety of reflective activities focused on building personal and team commitments to keep TJSS a safe, welcoming and supportive place for everyone.
Students participated in several hands-on creative projects, including: “Empathy Glasses,” “The Mural of Invisible Silhouettes,” “The Healing Words Dictionary,” “Recipes for Healthy Coexistence,” and “A Thousand Cranes of Respect.” On the final day of the week, these crafts were proudly displayed throughout the school campus.
Also, the school held cross-grade level activities that brought different areas together. One highlight was “Sweetening Levels,” where students from the different areas of Lower & Upper Elementary teamed up with High School and exchanged homemade sweet treats.
The Early Childhood are also enjoyed these intergenerational connections. Our youngest learners participated in sports circuits led by 9th graders (primero medio) and shared recess time with 6th graders, enjoying face painting, bubbles, and music.
Our Early Childhood students also took part in the “Kindness Parade,” where each class marched showcasing posters made together with their families to highlight the core value of Kindness.
Not to be left out, the faculty and staff joined in on the school spirit, building camaraderie through cross – department sports, crafts, and recreational games.
This successful week was organized by the School Coexistence Department (Departamento de Convivencia Escolar), with the valuable support of the Physical Education Department.
