The U11 co-ed soccer team from Thomas Jefferson STEM School secured 1st place in the nation at the 2026 Scotiabank Youth Tournament on October 11th.
After dominating the regional stage, our team traveled to Santiago, where players Joaquín Vega, Valentín García, Julián Núñez, Julián Rojas, Magdalena Vergara, Francisca Vidal, María Clara Hinrichsen, and Javiera Bustos competed against schools from across Chile, ultimately taking home the national title.
With this huge victory, our team has earned the right to represent Chile on the international stage at the Scotiabank Cup, scheduled to take place this November in Mexico.
In addition to bringing home the championship trophy, three of our players earned individual tournament awards:
⭐️ Joaquín Vega – Best Goalkeeper
⭐️ Francisca Vidal – Top Goal Scorer
⭐️ Julián Núñez – Tournament MVP
Congratulations to our student-athletes for their remarkable teamwork, and a special thank you to their coaches, Miss Magdalena Osores and Mister Marcelo Domínguez, for leading and inspiring them through positive sportsmanship.
We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Parent Association (Centro de Padres) for providing custom Jeffersonian jackets and supporting the delegation throughout their journey.
Way to go, team!
