Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on the many blessings we have, both big and small. It’s a day to gather with family and friends, to share meals, and to pause from our busy life. While the holiday has historical roots in gratitude for harvest, its modern celebration often emphasizes the value of connection and appreciation.
This time of year in our school we try to offer a chance to reflect on what we are thankful for—whether it’s our loved ones, our health, our opportunities, or even the simple joys that brighten our everyday lives. In a world that often rushes forward, Thanksgiving encourages us to slow down, take a deep breath, and recognize the goodness that surrounds us.
Thanksgiving serves as a reminder that gratitude nurtures contentment and peace, enriching our lives and helping us cultivate a positive mindset. It’s an opportunity to express thanks, not just through words, but through our actions—by giving, helping others, and creating moments of warmth and connection.
Some students from Challenge created a brief play showing how Thanksgiving was in those days.
