In 1992, Gregory L. Trzebiatowski, Ph.D., an educator with an innovative spirit, experience, and fresh ideas, and inspired by the teaching and holistic development of children, founded a co-educational school: The Thomas Jefferson School.
Education at The Thomas Jefferson STEM School is based on the active participation of parents, students, and teachers in the learning process. The teaching staff strives to be positive role models, dedicating their passion to providing the necessary support to encourage students in their pursuit of academic excellence. For this reason, we motivate our teachers to continuously seek professional development and personal growth.
Our main goals are to foster creativity in students, the development of critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and a love of learning. The Thomas Jefferson STEM School values and encourages a sense of responsibility toward family, respect for diversity, service to others, environmental awareness, and sensitivity to globally relevant issues.
Today, the school is characterized by its independent and co-educational approach, with levels ranging from Infant School to 12th Grade.
The school is located in a natural setting between Concepción and Talcahuano, Chile. The beauty of the expansive surroundings creates a learning environment connected to nature, facilitating direct access to knowledge that incorporates local experiences.
The Thomas Jefferson STEM School is a secular school that seeks to have students of all ethnicities, cultures, races, and creeds. It also promotes values such as respect and tolerance towards other cultures, and students benefit from a challenging bilingual program.
The school is a community of active learners who work towards developing academic success and self-esteem. We use a curriculum that seeks the holistic development of the child: intellectual, physical, spiritual, social, emotional, and aesthetic.
The school's extensive infrastructure and resources provide students with the opportunity for comprehensive development. They participate in a wide variety of artistic and athletic activities.
Our comprehensive curriculum is built on nurturing and supporting the development of each child's unique potential in a loving and understanding environment. Graduates of The Thomas Jefferson STEM School will be men and women of honor and success, prepared for an outstanding higher education experience and an active working life.
