Teacher Profile

Fundamental to the success of any educational institution is the selection and training of teaching staff. The Thomas Jefferson STEM School, for its part, hires highly qualified Chilean and American teachers.

Teachers will receive English language training abroad, as well as instruction in the philosophy and methodology that will guide the educational process at The Thomas Jefferson STEM School.

Visiting teachers from both Chile and abroad will conduct training programs and evaluate the curriculum, in addition to other academic activities.

Job Description:

Education professional, elementary or high school teacher, responsible for the systematic teaching and training processes, including: diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of these processes and complementary educational activities.

The teacher at the Thomas Jefferson STEM School will be able to demonstrate the following competencies:

Functional Competencies

  • Efficiently performs administrative teaching tasks, such as: recording, organizing, and providing the information and progress of the teaching and learning process necessary for effective curriculum development and decision-making by the administrative team.
  • Plans their course, designing lessons, methodologies, and scheduling activities according to the course objectives and syllabus.
  • Provides an organized and conducive learning environment for their students.
  • Delivers effective lessons, using appropriate strategies so that students achieve meaningful learning.
  • Evaluates student learning and establishes strategies based on the results.
  • Reformulates their teaching practice using innovative proposals applicable to their specialization.

Behavioral Competencies

  • Demonstrates commitment to the institution, its philosophy, and regulations.
  • Is proactive and innovative in their teaching practice, leading and motivating students toward meaningful learning.
