Excellence in English: Pia Sanhueza (8th Grade) and Catalina Perez (7th Grade) represented The Thomas Jefferson School at the English Olympiad at The Wessex School on August 29. In a competition involving 22 different schools, Catalina and
Pia brought home the silver and the gold, respectively.
Catalina Perez won second place in the Seventh Grade category.
Pia Sanhueza, after a heated tiebreaker, secured first place. The tiebreaker came down to a spelling bee, where Pia had to spell the word “procrastination” to win. She remembered it from English class and cruised to victory.
